Trilogy Events is a women-owned and operated event management company run by two best friends -- Haylie Barnes and Monica Overton -- with an exuding love for all things events! When people ask how Trilogy Events began, we laugh and say "over one too many glasses of wine." Both Haylie and Monica dreamed of owning their own event planning business one day, but never dreamed they would be lucky enough to do it side by side with their best friend. "People and timing, that's what makes the difference." With over 25 years of industry experience combined, our mission is to focus on a client first approach. Whether that be a couple preparing for their wedding day, the first product launch for a corporation, a memorable birthday year or anything in between -- our goal is to ensure that our clients vision is first and foremost throughout the planning process. If you choose to work with us, you can expect a dedicated event planning team that sticks by your side through every decision and obstacle that comes our way. Our clients become part of the Trilogy family and we enjoy celebrating every milestone with them through the planning process and beyond!

Meet the Owners
Haylie Barnes
Haylie’s love for events began with her first high school Hello Dance, which she planned at the beginning of her senior year. Everything was so exciting from choosing themes and color palettes to planning attendee experience and flow. She describes it as a “talk to me, Harry Winston, tell me all about it” moment for her. Soon after completing her degree in Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation Management she moved to Miami, Florida where she began coordinating events for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. Haylie decided to relocate back to her home state of California where she continued her passion for event planning with a local Golf and Country Club, where she met Monica. Haylie says, “A chemistry like ours happens once in a lifetime, and we could not waste the opportunity we were given…I never believed in twin telepathy until I met her.”
In her free time, Haylie can be found soaking up the California sun through many outdoor activities including hiking, surfing, and running. Lucky for her the sun shines here almost 360 days out of the year. You can find her on the weekends in a sweat session at the gym or trying a new local coffee house to feed her ongoing addiction to caffeine. In the evenings, (if she isn’t dancing the night away) she is quite the Night Owl and there tends to be few reasons to hit the pillow any earlier than midnight. Selfcare isn’t just her hobby, it is a lifestyle and she will talk your ear off on the new Skyn Iceland eye patches if you let her.
Monica Overton
Monica's passion for events began as a child. Some of her fondest memories are of her setting the table with her grandmother, planning menus and decorating for all of her family events. This passion drove her to pursue a degree in Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism Management. While completing her degree, Monica began her career as an intern at the Silicon Valley Capital Club. Upon graduation, Monica moved to Southern California for a couple of years where she assisted in the execution of countless weddings, auctions and special events before moving back to the Bay Area for family. She was given the opportunity to continue her career at the Los Altos Golf and Country Club where she planned and executed hundreds of events for the membership. With over a decade in the industry, Monica has worked with clients of all ranges, planning any and all special events including weddings, auctions, bar and bat mitzvahs, golf tournaments, baby and bridal showers, celebrations of life, corporate meetings
and so much more.
In her spare time, Monica enjoys spending time with husband and daughter. As a family they enjoy traveling all over the world and can’t wait to see where their next adventure will take them. On a relaxing day, you can find her with a glass of her favorite wine, watching a very predictable, but always happy, Hallmark Movie.
